common issues

Anxiety

The main symptom of anxiety is excessive fear or worry. Anxiety can also make it hard to breathe, sleep, stay still, and concentrate. A big event or a buildup of smaller stressful life situations may trigger excessive anxiety — for example, a death in the family, work stress or ongoing worry about finances.

depression

Depression is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional problems and can decrease a person’s ability to function at work and at home.

stress

Stress is your body’s way of responding to any kind of demand or threat. When you sense danger—whether it’s real or imagined—the body’s defenses kick into high gear in a rapid, automatic process known as the “fight-or-flight” reaction or the “stress response.” The stress response is the body’s way of protecting you.

everyday fear

Fear plays a huge role in shaping who we become. It affects the decisions we make, the actions we take, and the outcomes we achieve. Few common everyday fears: Fear of failure, success, public speaking, rejection, making the wrong decision, other people’s opinions, responsibility, saying the wrong thing, being exposed as an impostor, commitment, challenge, missing out., and many more.

career development

Your career development is a lifelong process that, whether you know it or not, actually started when you were born! Career Counseling is a process that will help you to know and understand yourself and the world of work in order to make career, educational, and life decisions. Career Development is more than just deciding on a major and what job you want to get when you graduate.

workplace conflict

Workplace conflict is inevitable when employees of various backgrounds and different work styles are brought together for a shared business purpose. Conflict takes many forms in organizations. Conflict can – and should – be managed and resolved. Conflict can be expressed in numerous ways such as insults, non-cooperation, bullying and anger. It can occur in individuals, between individual and between groups.

sexual identification

Sexual identity is how one thinks of oneself in terms of to whom one is romantically or sexually attracted. Sexual identity may also refer to sexual orientation identity, which is when people identify or dis-identify with a sexual orientation or choose not to identify with a sexual orientation.

self - concept issues

One’s self-concept is a collection of beliefs about oneself. Generally, self-concept embodies the answer to “Who am I?”. Self-concept is distinguishable from self- awareness, which refers to the extent to which self- knowledge is defined, consistent, and currently applicable to one’s attitudes and dispositions.

adjustment issues

Adjustment disorders are a group of conditions that can occur when you have difficulty coping with a stressful life event. These can include the death of a loved one, relationship issues, or being fired from work. While everyone encounters stress, some people have trouble handling certain stressors.

relationship issues

Couples get into problems when they’re afraid to be honest – usually because they think the truth will upset their partner and might jeopardize the relationship. They don’t express their hurt or to ask for the love or support they want, or they do so in a way that’s critical or blaming.

child behavior problems

Raising children is difficult, and raising difficult children can be life disrupting. Most of the children experience a temporary behavioral and/or emotional problem, and these pass with time, and require a parent’s patience and understanding and guidance of a psychologist.
