Dealing with Random Sad Days!!
There will always be one random sad day now and then, the moment you open our eyes and wake up we start feeling sad. May be It was not like this the before day and was feeling normal the before night too but when you woke up something changed that is your emotion, your mood. A sad dark feeling which feels empty, blank will start escalating inside; not being aware of the reason behind this sudden quantum leap of sadness and unable to understand what to do, we start our day and walk into it carrying it.
This happens to many people and many times. You may wonder if this is depression. No, this is not depression. Depression is a constant feeling it doesn’t change like this. This is a random sad day which has a reason behind this sadness which we are not consciously aware of or sometime we will be aware of it but just won’t acknowledge the reason.
THERE ARE MANY REASONS:
The sudden sadness is due to the subconscious sadness which has a reason and you need to try figuring it out consciously. Our emotions carry the message of our subconscious thoughts. The probable reasons could be discrete.
One of the reason behind this will be your old memory. Something must have triggered back your emotion related to your old memory or else something might have happened before day Someone might have told something to you, something might have happened which made you sad itself which you avoided thinking that you can handle it if you avoid it but subconcsiouly it is effecting you.
Another reason will be any bad dream or disturbed sleep. Our sub-conscious memory stores every emotion and The emotions which are not addressed and situations left un-dealt will be Even an unnecessary negative thought before sleeping will influence your mood. Not just that you might have missed out any regular activity before bed and the guilt of not doing it will also be effecting your mood. Some one might have told you something which made you sad unconsciously the before day
Another possible reason could be your discontentment….. Maybe there is something you are procrastinating since long time and you know it is important but your habit of procrastination is making you sad and guilty.
HOW TO RECOGNISE:
Start by acknowledging your sadness and by understanding the reason behind it. Take some time to analyze the root cause of that reason. Once the reason is know you can eventually understand how to deal with it. Write down the analysis of the reason. Go back in the reverse lane of your time from moment to moment to identify the beginning of this emotion. After comprehending the starting time point of this sudden emotional change. Analyze what has happened before it. Puzzle out Which word or action has triggered the emotion.
HOW TO DEAL WITH IT:
Write down how you feel, the reason behind it and assure yourself with affirmations related to the cause and then try out few activities which will change you’re your mood you can try activating few happy chemicals in your mind according to the cause. Few happiness chemicals are Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin, Endorpin.
We can activate dopamine which is a reward chemical. by completing a procrastinated task or by simply completing a task which you want to do, by Doing self care activities, by Eating your favorite food, by celebrating small achievements.
We can activate Endorphin which is the pain killer by laughing. Do a laughter exercise or watch any comedy. Endorphin can be activated by using essential oils in any preferable ways and by eating dark chocolate and by exercising.
Oxytocin is a love hormone which can be activated by playing with a baby or a dog, holding hands or hugging your family.
Serotonin is a mode stabilizer this releases when you meditate, when you do running or have a sun exposure, by walk in nature, swimming or cycling.
Don’t just search for a reason to be happy search for the reason behind your sadness. Acknowledging and addressing the reasons under your emotional change is important before putting efforts in making yourself happy actually these both are correlated. We all deserve to be happy in every possible moments in our lives and happiness is not just about making most of the good times but also about being able to cope with bad moments effectively by making most of our lives.
